Project Neptune Natural Revetment
Project background
Associated British Ports (ABP) Fleetwood is proposing to undertake works to a suspended quay and part of the dock walls in Fish Dock, Port of Fleetwood. The main use of Fish Dock is as a marina for small pleasure craft, with some limited unloading of fishing vessels. However, the remaining element of the suspended quay on the north and west side of Fish Dock is in extremely poor condition and has started to subside. It is now considered to be a dangerous structure and is at risk of collapse. A sheet piled wall and infill of the original suspended quay on the western extent of Fish Dock is also at risk of failure with erosion of the material behind the wall. The proposed works will involve the removal of the derelict suspended quay and sheet piled wall and the creation of an ecologically favourable landscaped revetment in its place. This will provide both environmental and social benefits within Fleetwood Docks.
For further information, please see the Environmental Appraisal included with this application.
Programme of works
It is currently proposed to start works in February or March 2021 and complete work within 26 weeks.
The works will be undertaken during normal construction hours, between 08:00 and 17:00 Monday-Friday, and between 08:30 and 13:00 on Saturday.
For further information, please see the Environmental Appraisal included with this application.
