Project background

The Ormonde Offshore Wind Farm is located in the eastern Irish Sea approximately 9 km from Walney Island near Barrow-in-Furness. The site has been fully operational since 2012. An Operational and Maintenance (O&M) Marine Licence is required to accompany the existing project consents, in support of ongoing licensable O&M activities over the lifetime of the wind farm. The scope of the Marine Licence application covers licensable O&M activities in relation to the wind turbines, their associated foundations, the inter-array cables, and the pontoons at the O&M base.
