Project background

The Barrow offshore wind farm is located in the eastern Irish Sea approximately 7 km south west of Walney Island near Barrow-in-Furness. The wind farm has been fully operational since July 2006. An Operational and Maintenance (O&M) Marine Licence is required to accompany the existing project consents, in support of ongoing licensable O&M activities over the lifetime of the wind farm. The scope of the Marine Licence application covers licensable O&M activities in relation to the wind turbines and their associated foundations.
